How do payouts work for no-shows?

When a guest fails to arrive, their authorized hold is captured and transferred to your Dateposit Wallet as Karma points. You can use these points to fully fund your side of the authorization on all future invites, keeping your actual cash completely protected.

When will the pending hold disappear from my bank?

The moment you and your guest successfully check-in via GPS, our system instantly voids the authorization hold. However, depending on your specific bank or credit card provider, it can take 1 to 3 business days for the pending transaction to completely clear from your statement.

How does the check-in process actually work?

When you reach the venue, simply tap 'Arrive' on your invite. Dateposit uses temporary GPS verification to confirm you are at the correct location and instantly voids the holds. If your location services are disabled, don't worry—Dateposit also provides a secure, unique fallback link so both parties can manually verify attendance together.

Is there a fee to use Dateposit?

To maintain our secure escrow infrastructure and location verification technology, Dateposit charges a flat $5 service fee only when an invite is successfully booked and matched. If an invite is never accepted by your guest, you pay absolutely nothing.

Do my guests need to download an app?

No. Dateposit runs entirely as a secure web platform. You send your guest a private link, and they can accept the terms and authorize their hold directly in their browser. They don't even need to create an account. It's as fast and frictionless as checking out with Apple Pay.

What if I need to cancel my plans?

Life happens. If both parties agree to cancel 24 hours or more in advance, both Stripe holds are voided immediately with no penalties. If a cancellation occurs within the 24-hour window, the system captures the canceling party's stake and credits it to the other user's Dateposit Wallet.
